Yeah, you're absolutely correct about the different approaches thing. I
was just throwing in my two cents since I've spent a lot of time
thinking about how software installation is done in general, and on Mac
clients in particular, in the last several years.

I prefer the stow approach because it lets me do the same thing for
Ruby, Perl, Python (I need all three daily :( ) as well as other
software I acquire or write, without needing to really learn the
vagaries of RVM and the like.

I didn't mean to derail the conversation away from your documentation,
sorry about that.
