[Pauldotcom] Residential Web Filtering

I've been asked by a family friend to help them with their kids web access.
Outside of the enterprise space, I don't know anything about web
filtering on the home level. I know most routers these days allow you to
input sites but this is kind of cumbersome for a non techie to manage.
Anyone used anything like this before?
